Sarah C. Griffith

Bio:

Born Virginia, the artist began drawing at the age three on the back of old envelopes and paper bags. At college, a future in art was put aside with the reality of making a living. The change in direction resulted in a BA degree in English and a teaching career.

Raising a family was the next priority. As her children grew she returned to school for a major in Interior Design, which she practiced for several years. The need for more regular hours found her back in the classroom for several years.  Upon retirement from education, the artist took up drawing, painting and traveling full time.

Mostly self taught, she has also studied under Richard Jenny at California State University, Fresno; Carlene Kostiw, Kay Owens, and Suzie Stach, of Fresno.

The artist is a member of the Alliance of California Artists, the West Coast Pastel Society, and the Paso Robles Art Association.
